The Hockey Site

The short version

The Hockey Site (THS) shares field hockey coaching knowledge with coaches. Live sessions are free; our on-demand library sits behind a paid subscription. By using THS — the website, the newsletter, the videos or the live sessions — you agree to these terms. They’re meant to be fair and readable, so please have a quick look.

Who we are

THS is operated by Ernst Baart, based in Belgium (Luikstraat 3, Antwerpen 2000). You can reach us at ernst@thehockeysite.com.

What we offer

• Free live sessions — webinars, masterclasses, panel talks and workshops, streamed on YouTube and elsewhere.
• A newsletter — free, delivered through Beehiiv.
• A paid on-demand library — recordings of our sessions, available to subscribers behind a paywall, with videos served through Vimeo.

We bring together knowledge from top coaches and share it. THS is a facilitator — we host and share these conversations, we don’t provide coaching advice ourselves. What you do with the knowledge is up to you and your own judgement.

Your account and subscription

To access paid content you’ll need an account and an active subscription, both managed through Beehiiv. Keep your login details to yourself — you’re responsible for what happens under your account. Let us know straight away if you think someone else is using it.

Payment, renewals and cancellation

• Subscription prices and billing periods are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• You can cancel any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• If something goes wrong with a payment or you think you’ve been charged in error, email ernst@thehockeysite.com and we’ll sort it out..

What you can and can’t do with the content

The content is for your own personal use as a coach. You may not:

• share, resell, sub-licence or republish our videos, recordings or articles;
• download, copy or re-record paid content, or get around the paywall;
• give others access to content through your account.

If you’d like to use THS content with your club, federation or team, get in touch — we’re usually happy to find a way.

Who owns the content

The masterclasses, recordings, articles and other material on THS belong to THS and to the coaches who created them. Subscribing gives you permission to watch and learn from it — it doesn’t transfer any ownership or rights to you. The THS name and logo are ours; please don’t use them without permission.

Taking part in live sessions

If you join a live session, be respectful to coaches and other participants. We can remove anyone who’s disruptive or abusive. Live sessions are recorded and published as on-demand content — see our Privacy Policy for what that means if you appear as a guest or turn on your camera.

Third-party platforms

THS runs on platforms we don’t own — such as, among others, Beehiiv, Vimeo, YouTube, Zoom and our website host. When you use them through THS, their terms apply too. We’re not responsible for their availability or for problems caused by them, though we’ll do our best to keep everything running smoothly.

A note on the coaching content

Everything shared on THS is for general education. It reflects the views and methods of the coaches involved, not a single right answer, and not professional, medical or safety advice. Coaching involves physical activity — use your own judgement, follow your own governing body’s safety guidance, and take responsibility for how you apply what you learn with your players.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep THS useful and available, but we can’t promise it’ll always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or knock-on losses arising from your use of THS. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Belgian or EU law, or our liability for things that can’t legally be excluded.

Ending access

You can stop using THS and cancel your subscription whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — for example, by sharing paid content — usually after letting you know, unless the situation is serious.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll update the date above, and for meaningful changes we’ll give you reasonable notice. Continuing to use THS after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Belgian courts. If you’re a consumer, this doesn’t take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
