No copy / paste here. Build what YOU believe works for your team.
Most season plans you find online are somebody else’s plan. They work for the team they were written for, and then you inherit them without the reasoning that made them work.
This one’s built the other way round. Nine sections, each a set of questions you answer for your own team, with the thinking behind them and links to the masterclasses they came from. Physical, technical, tactical, mental, plus specialists and set pieces. There’s a one-page canvas near the end where it all lands.
No email required. Download it, use it, send it to anyone on your coaching staff who might get something out of it.

Five languages. Each one includes the U16 and U12 variations.
What’s in it
- Mapping your season around the weeks you actually get, allowing for weather, holidays and exams
- What peak means for your team, written as how they play rather than where they finish
- Four to six blocks, each with an in-possession theme, an out-of-possession theme, and a physical and mental emphasis
- The weekly rhythm across two sessions and a match
- Five in-season checks that tell you to adjust rather than push on
- The box every coach leaves blank: what you’re deliberately leaving out this season
Where it came from
Everything in the guide came out of the archive: masterclasses, panel talks and workshops with coaches who’ve done the job at every level. Over 200 sessions so far. The links in each chapter take you back to the source, so you can go deeper on whichever part you’re stuck on.
Three that pair well with the pack, all free to read:
- Periodisation for club coaches — planning a season on two sessions a week
- Smart pre-season planning — Russell Coates on drills, themes and managing numbers
- Pre-season training — a full workshop, warm-ups through to game simulation
