Graham Reid about hockey 5s and how useful it is to develop players on 11v11

On Hockey5s itself Reid holds back, saying he does not know the format well enough to comment. But he backs short formats generally: he and Charlesworth built indoor hockey into Australia’s programme until the load on players got too heavy, and he still uses four-a-side and five-a-side games with boards outdoors, because the rebounds force players to think differently about where the ball can come from in build-up.
