Danny Kerry about building understanding when different principles come into play

Kerry builds this understanding through a box drill: four defenders in a box shape against four attackers who go wherever they like, with constant questions about whether the group is denying or dictating and what that means for lines, body shape and stick work. Players pick opponents up man to man when the zone’s integrity feels broken, then reform the zone once the opposition are forced backwards over several phases.
