Small sided games are absolutely right for technical work with U14 and U16 players, Enrich says, provided they sit alongside individual sessions. Changing a flawed skill means rewiring neuromotor patterns, which takes close attention, time and variable repetition in tiny groups; the game is then the best place to apply it, because it adds decisions about when, how and to whom.
